At 1848 Store, every creation is crafted and delivered with uncompromising care. We hope that your experience exceeds expectations; however, should you wish to return an item, our policy ensures clarity, fairness, and the protection of both our clients and our craftsmanship.

This policy applies to purchases made directly through 1848 Store’s official online boutique.

1. Right of Return

Clients may return eligible items within 30 days from the date of delivery.

To be accepted, the item must be:

  • Unused, unworn, and in pristine, sellable condition

  • Complete with all original packaging, boxes, dust bags, manuals, and accessories

  • Free of damage, marks, odours, or alterations

  • Accompanied by a valid Return Authorisation Number (#RAN) issued by our Customer Service

Returns without an RAN will not be processed under any circumstance.

Swiss law requires that customers be granted the possibility to examine a product; however, any use beyond what is necessary to verify the nature and characteristics of the item may result in a reduction of the refundable amount.

2. How to Request a Return

To initiate a return, you must contact our Customer Service within 30 days of receiving your order:

Please include:

  • Your full name

  • Order number

  • Item(s) you wish to return

  • Reason for return

Once your request is reviewed, our Customer Service team will issue a Return Authorisation Number (#RAN) and provide the exact return instructions and warehouse address.

Our inventory is distributed across multiple secure facilities; therefore, returns must only be sent to the address we provide for your specific request.

3. Returning the Goods

Once an RAN is issued, the item must be shipped back within 10 days.

Please ensure that:

  • The #RAN is clearly written on the shipping label and inside the parcel

  • Items are securely packaged to avoid damage

  • You use a tracked and insured courier service

Clients are responsible for the cost and risk of return shipping.

1848 Store cannot be held liable for lost, delayed, or damaged return shipments. Refunds cannot be issued without physical receipt of the returned goods or verifiable proof of delivery.

4. Non-Returnable Items

For reasons of quality control, legal compliance, and hygiene, the following items cannot be returned:

  • Products that have been customised, engraved, monogrammed, or otherwise personalised

  • Items that have been used, worn, damaged, altered, or unsealed where hygiene regulations apply

  • Goods that, by their nature, cannot be returned or have been inseparably mixed with other materials

  • Items purchased under special contracts or bespoke orders expressly excluded from return

1848 Store reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse any return that does not comply with the above conditions.

5. Refunds

Once the returned item is received and inspected, you will be notified by email.

If approved, the refund will be processed within 30 days, using the same payment method originally used for the purchase.

No administrative fees will be applied.

Refunds may be reduced if an item shows any signs of use beyond what is required to verify its characteristics, in accordance with Swiss consumer protection principles.

6. Gifts

If an item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you:

  • Approved returns will be refunded in the form of a gift credit issued to the recipient.

If the item was not marked as a gift, or if the purchaser had the item sent to themselves before gifting it:

  • The refund will be issued directly to the purchaser, as required under payment-method regulations.

7. Important Notices
  • Returns without an RAN cannot be processed and will not be returned or stored by 1848 Store.

  • Parcels must include your full name, return address, and the valid return address provided by 1848 Store.

  • We strongly recommend retaining proof of shipment and insurance coverage.

  • Items damaged due to inadequate packaging or improper handling will not qualify for a refund.
